Privacy Policy

1) Who we are

Sleep Pressure (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a simple baby tracker that helps caregivers time wake windows, naps, feeds, and diapers. Our goal is to keep your data private and on your device by default.

2) Quick summary

  • No account required. Use the app without creating an account.
  • On-device by default. Logs stay on your device unless you enable platform backups (e.g., iCloud/Google).
  • AI insights. Suggestions are generated on-device by default. We also use Grok (xAI) API for optional AI processing as described below.
  • Monetization roadmap. Core features are free. We may introduce optional ads and/or subscriptions for additional AI credits later (details below).

3) Data we collect

We designed Sleep Pressure to minimize data collection.

  • App activity you log (on device): wake times, nap start/stop, feeds (time/amount if entered), diapers (type), and optional notes.
  • App settings (on device): baby birthdate/age (to calculate wake-window targets), units, and preferences.
  • Support communications: If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
  • Diagnostics (optional): Crash logs may be collected by your platform if you enable sharing (e.g., Apple/Google). We do not link these to your identity.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, camera, or microphone data. We do not track across apps or websites.

4) How we use data

  • Provide the service: calculate wake-window targets, show timers, and generate AI tips.
  • Support & safety: respond to support requests; detect, prevent, and address bugs or abuse.
  • Legal: comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms.

Legal bases (GDPR): performance of a contract (providing the app), legitimate interests (app safety and improvement), and consent where required (e.g., optional diagnostics or ads).

5) Where processing happens (incl. Grok API)

On device: Logging and baseline AI suggestions run locally by default. If you enable platform backups (e.g., iCloud/Google), your platform provider will process a copy under their terms.

Grok (xAI) API (processor): To provide enhanced AI insights, we may send a minimal daily summary to Grok’s API for processing. This summary is designed to avoid direct identifiers and can include items like age in weeks, wake/nap durations, feed amounts and times, and simple flags (e.g., “overtired likely”). We do not send names, emails, or contact information. Data is transmitted over TLS and used solely to generate the requested insight and to improve our AI features where permitted by law and your settings. See xAI/Grok’s terms and privacy notices for details. You can opt out of cloud AI in the app settings (keeping processing on-device only).

6) Retention

  • On-device logs: remain until you delete them or uninstall the app.
  • Support emails: kept as long as needed to address your request and maintain records, then deleted or archived securely.
  • AI summaries sent to Grok (if used): retained only as long as needed to return results and support service reliability; otherwise deleted or aggregated per our and xAI’s retention practices.

7) Sharing & third parties

  • We do not sell your data.
  • Service providers: Vendors (e.g., email, hosting, AI processing) receive only what’s necessary under confidentiality obligations.
  • Platform backups: If enabled, Apple iCloud/Google handle your backup under their policies.
  • Legal: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity.

Third-party SDKs and services:

  • Grok (xAI) API — AI inference (minimal daily summaries; no direct identifiers).
  • Planned/possible (if enabled later): Google AdMob (ads), RevenueCat/App Store/Play Billing (subscriptions), Firebase Analytics (usage analytics). We’ll update this page and request any required consent before use.

8) Monetization (Ads & Subscriptions)

Ads: We may introduce optional, family-safe ads via Google AdMob. If we do, we will:

  • Request any required consent (e.g., GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws, COPPA treatment where applicable).
  • Limit data to what’s necessary for ad delivery, frequency capping, and fraud prevention.
  • Offer an ad-free experience with a subscription.

Subscriptions: We may offer subscriptions to unlock additional AI credits or premium features. Purchases are processed by Apple/Google (and/or RevenueCat). We don’t receive your full payment card details.

9) Your rights & choices

  • Access/Export: View your logs in the app. Contact us if you need an export before an in-app export exists.
  • Delete: Delete entries in the app or uninstall to remove on-device data. Email us to delete support emails.
  • Consent & preferences: If ads/analytics/cloud AI are enabled, you’ll have in-app controls to change consent and preferences any time.
  • GDPR/UK & EEA: Request access, rectification, deletion, restriction, or objection via email.
  • CCPA/CPRA (California): We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context advertising. Request access or deletion via email.
  • Do Not Track: We do not track you across third-party apps/sites.

10) Children’s privacy

The app is intended for use by adults tracking a child’s routines. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please keep your device and backups secure.

12) International transfers

If we process data on servers outside your country (including when using Grok/xAI or other vendors), we rely on appropriate safeguards where required (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses). On-device is the default.

13) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, if changes are material, provide in-app notice.
